Job Description

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to provide essential healthcare services within a K-12 school setting near the Norfolk, VA area. This contract role offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours and is available as soon as possible, extending through the remainder of the school year with intentions to renew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver routine nursing care, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Assess, document, and manage students health needs in collaboration with school staff and families.
  • Respond promptly to student health emergencies and maintain accurate health records.
  • Promote a healthy school environment by educating students and staff on health and wellness practices.
  • Ensure compliance with school health policies and state regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid LPN/LVN license with current state certification.
  • Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric healthcare preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with children, parents, and school personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to supporting student health and safety throughout the academic year.
