Job Description

A California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) opportunity is available supporting a medically fragile high school student in Escondido, CA. This contract position involves providing specialized nursing care on a one-to-one basis, including management of pediatric patients with complex needs such as ventilators, tracheostomies, and feeding tubes.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid CA LVN license required
  • Previous school nursing experience preferred
  • Skilled in caring for pediatric patients with vents, trachs, g-tubes, and related medical equipment
  • Comfortable riding the bus with the student for transportation duties

Position Details:

  • Location: Escondido, CA
  • Work schedule: 35-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Caseload: One medically fragile high school student
  • Term: Contract through the current school year, approximately January to mid-June
  • Support: Supervision provided by paraeducators or other nursing staff as needed

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care tailored to the students medical needs throughout the school day
  • Monitor and manage ventilators, tracheostomy sites, feeding tubes, and other medical devices
  • Ensure student safety while accompanying the student on school transportation
  • Collaborate with educational and support staff to promote the students health and ability to engage in school activities
