A leading elementary school in Elk Grove, CA, is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide one-on-one nursing care for a student. This contract position spans the current school year (CSY) and is ideal for nurses experienced in school health settings looking to make a meaningful impact within an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and support to a student requiring one-on-one assistance during school hours
- Monitor and record the students health status and communicate changes promptly to school personnel and healthcare providers
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and school policies
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare teams to develop and implement health care plans tailored to the students needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all regulatory requirements related to school nursing
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license
- Experience working as an LPN/LVN in school or pediatric healthcare settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students, families, and educators
- Ability to provide compassionate, individualized nursing care in a school environment
- Familiarity with protocols related to student health services
