Job Description
A licensed practical nurse (LPN) is needed to provide health room coverage for a K-12 school setting within the Daytona Beach, FL area. This contract role supports student health and wellness through clinical care in the school environment. The assignment is scheduled from the start date ASAP through May 28th, with 35 billable hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver basic nursing care to students, addressing routine health concerns and managing minor injuries or illnesses
- Maintain accurate health records and document all care provided
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding health and safety issues
- Assist with health screenings and immunization compliance as directed
- Respond to medical emergencies following established protocols
- Collaborate with school personnel to promote a healthy and safe environment for all students
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license
- Experience working in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with children and diverse school communities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced school environment
- Knowledge of school nursing protocols and state health regulations is a plus
Location and Schedule:
- Position available within multiple schools across the district-wide area in Daytona Beach, FL
- Contract duration runs through close of school year
- Full-time, 35 hours per week
