Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students health and well-being in a school setting for the 2026-2027 academic year. A contract opportunity is available for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) beginning August 6th and continuing through May 27th, with duties situated on-site at an elementary school near Citrus Heights, CA. You will work within a collaborative educational environment, providing compassionate nursing care and playing a vital role in students daily success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and active California LVN or LPN license
  • Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Familiarity with individualized healthcare plans (IHPs), medication administration, and diabetes care is a plus
  • CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer basic first aid, emergency care, and prescribed medications to students
  • Support chronic condition management (diabetes, asthma, allergies)
  • Document all health services provided and maintain accurate medical records
  • Assist with health screenings and immunization compliance
  • Serve as a resource for teachers and staff regarding student health needs
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with school and district policies

Assignment Hours:

  • Tuesday through Friday: 9:20 AM to 3:35 PM
  • Mondays (minimum days): 9:20 AM to 12:50 PM
