A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is needed to support a K-12 school environment in the Norfolk, VA area, with a contract position starting as soon as possible and continuing through the remainder of the school year, with intentions to renew. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, providing flexibility for education professionals or healthcare providers looking to work in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment, medication administration, and first aid.
- Support health screenings and maintain detailed health records for students.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure student health and safety.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and manage health-related concerns throughout the school day.
- Promote health education and wellness programs within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Valid LPN/LVN license in the state of Virginia.
- Experience working with children in a school or pediatric healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
