Make a difference in the lives of preK-8th grade students for the upcoming school year in the Buffalo, NY area! This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled and compassionate LPNs, RNs, LVNs, or Certified Nurse Assistants seeking a meaningful role in a supportive educational environment. The assignment runs from August 12th through September 30th, with the possibility of extension.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active LPN, LVN, RN, or CNA credential (school nurse certification is flexible)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with students with mild to moderate disabilities (SPED preferred)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff and students
- Capable of conducting student evaluations and health screenings (such as vision and hearing)
- Comfortable training staff in CPR (not required, but welcomed)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day health services to students at a single school site
- Assess, manage, and document student injuries or illnesses
- Collaborate with school staff, administration, and families to meet student health needs
- Support with health education and preventive care initiatives
- Administer medications and manage care plans as needed
- Participate in evaluations for students, including potential screenings and assessments
This position offers a consistent MondayFriday schedule, 6.5 hours per day (32.5 hours per week), leaving your evenings and weekends free. The contract runs for the start of the academic year, with interview slots available via Zoom during convenient daytime hours.
