Step into a rewarding contract opportunity dedicated to supporting a 7-year-old student as an experienced LPN in a school environment near Auburn, WA. This position centers on providing compassionate, 1:1 care throughout the school day, both on campus and during bus rides. You'll collaborate with school staff, supporting a bright young student who utilizes a wheelchair (adaptive stroller) and requires hands-on assistance for mobility, personal care, and medical needs.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or LVN license
- Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric care is highly valued
- Demonstrated ability and comfort with G-tube and tracheostomy (trach) care
- Comfortable with physical support tasks, including lifting and two-person transfers
- Understanding of non-verbal communication; experience with AAC devices is a plus
- Dependable, patient, and proactive approach to individualized student support
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care to the assigned student throughout the school day
- Assist with morning pick-up (9:00 a.m.) and afternoon drop-off (4:21 p.m.) on the school bus
- Manage daily personal hygiene care, including diapering and the use of a height-adjustable changing table
- Handle transfers with safety and dignity, often as part of a two-person team
- Deliver all required G-tube feedings and trach care, monitoring the student's health closely
- Foster a supportive environment and communicate effectively with school staff and families
