Key Qualifications:

• Valid California ASL Teaching Certification required
• Experience working as a Life Skills Teacher or with special education students preferred
• Fluency in American Sign Language
• Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive environment for all learners
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for helping high school students achieve both academic and life skills milestones

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging ASL and Life Skills lessons to high school students
• Adapt curriculum to accommodate diverse learning needs within a single location
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation of goals, challenges, and achievements
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Support students in developing independent living and social skills
• Create a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation
