Title: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter
Employment Type: Part-time | Contract | 20262027 School Year
Work Hours: 10:30 AM12:30 PM, MondayFriday (onsite)
Job Description:
We are seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to provide in-person interpreting services for a high school student in Calhoun, Georgia. The interpreter will support a student participating in a CTAE Culinary Arts course during the second semester.
Qualifications:
- Qualified ASL Interpreter credentials appropriate for Georgia school settings
- Experience providing ASL interpreting services in an educational setting preferred
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong communication and professional collaboration skills
- Ability to provide clear and accurate interpretation in a classroom setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person ASL interpretation during the student's Culinary Arts course
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school-related communication
- Support effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Maintain professional standards and confidentiality
- Collaborate with school staff to support the student's educational access
