Job Description

Seeking a passionate educator with expertise in supporting students with reading challenges, particularly dyslexia. This contract opportunity is based onsite at a single school near Wilkes Barre, PA, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference through targeted reading intervention and instruction.

As a Wilson Certified Teacher, you will collaborate with students who struggle with reading to foster measurable academic growth and confidence. The ideal candidate will deliver both individual and group instruction, addressing diverse student needs in a positive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Wilson Level I Certification is required
  • Experience as a General Education Teacher, Reading Specialist, or similar role
  • Skilled in delivering research-based interventions for students with reading disorders, including dyslexia
  • Ability to adapt instruction to varied learning styles and needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Full-time availability, working onsite 37.5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Wilson-based reading instruction to students identified with reading issues or dyslexia
  • Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans based on student needs
  • Track and report student progress in collaboration with colleagues and parents
  • Foster an encouraging classroom environment for growth and learning
  • Communicate regularly with staff and families regarding goals and achievements
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold educational standards
