Job Description

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Multi-Language/ English Language Learner Teacher at the middle school level. This role involves working three days per week, totaling 21 hours, from as soon as possible through the end of the current school year. Youll play a pivotal role in helping students improve their English language proficiency and achieve their academic goals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Holds a valid Connecticut teaching certificate with TESOL or bilingual education endorsement
  • Meets all state requirements for education, preparation, and examination
  • Experience in general education and/or English language learner instruction preferred
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, student-centered approach
  • Previous experience in middle school settings is a plus
  • Flexible and able to adapt lessons to students language development needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lessons for English Language Learners in a middle school environment
  • Assess students language abilities and track progress regularly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support academic success
  • Adapt curricular materials and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff
  • Provide a welcoming classroom environment conducive to language acquisition
