Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity crafting engaging math experiences for middle schoolers in a vibrant, onsite educational setting. This full-time contract position begins August 24, 2026, and runs through June 10, 2027, providing 35 hours per week of impactful instruction to a caseload focused on general education students. While there may be a mixture of SPED students, all special education needs will be handled by a dedicated SPED teacher, allowing you to fully concentrate on your subject expertise.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active teaching certification/licensure for the assignment, or a bachelors degree to qualify for an emergency teaching permit
  • Proficiency with middle school math concepts and current PA state/district standards
  • Prior experience working in schools, with urban settings strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strength in classroom and behavioral management
  • Experience designing differentiated lesson plans grounded in assessment data
  • Strong comfort level functioning within district protocols and school culture
  • Reliable transportation to the site; consistent attendance expected
  • Ability to work onsite, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM-4PM, with no schedule accommodations
  • Up-to-date on all required PA clearances

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated math instruction to general education students
  • Develop and implement standards-based lesson plans and assessments
  • Manage classroom dynamics to foster a productive, supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including support from SPED teachers
  • Utilize district resources, tools, and curriculum materials
  • Maintain accurate records and maintain communication with stakeholders
