Key Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Spanish/Foreign Language Educator Certificate authorizing teaching at high school grade levels
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Spanish, Education, or closely related field
  • Experience instructing Spanish language to adolescents preferred
  • Effective classroom management and lesson planning skills
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow educators and adapt methods to diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication abilities in both Spanish and English
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technology and educational best practices

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Spanish lessons to high school students in accordance with state standards and curriculum
  • Design, implement, and assess classroom activities fostering language acquisition and cultural appreciation
  • Utilize differentiated instruction to support varied student learning abilities
  • Encourage active participation and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Prepare students for assessments and provide constructive feedback on progress
  • Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and administrators regarding student achievement
  • Contribute to the academic community by participating in faculty meetings and professional development

This is a full-time, onsite position requiring 35 hours per week, offering a dynamic setting to share your love of language. The contract runs from ASAP through May 26, 2027.
