School Based Registered Nurse Near Gladstone, MO
We are seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse. You will act as the primary health leader in your assigned building, providing direct care to students, managing chronic health conditions, and promoting a safe, healthy learning environment for all. This is an ideal role for a nurse who enjoys autonomy, pediatric care, and a schedule that mirrors the school calendar.
Key Responsibilities
Direct 1:1 Student Care: Provide first aid, emergency care, and assessment for illnesses and injuries occurring during the school day.
Chronic Disease Management: Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with diabetes, asthma, seizures, or other chronic conditions.
Medication Administration: Safely dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with Missouri state laws and district policy.
Health Screenings: Conduct state-mandated screenings (vision, hearing, dental) and manage referrals for follow-up care.
Requirements & Qualifications
Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Missouri (or a compact state license).
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with relevant experience.
Certification: Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
Experience: Minimum of 12 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, public health, or emergency medicine.
Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in maintaining electronic health records (EHR).
