Your responsibilities will include delivering engaging English instruction in a classroom setting, adapting lessons to diverse learning needs, and assessing student progress. Youll collaborate with other faculty members and school social workers to ensure an inclusive, positive atmosphere where every learner can excel.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Louisiana Department of Education (LA DOE) License required
- Experience teaching English at the high school level is strongly preferred
- Solid classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to implement differentiated instruction and work with varied learning styles
- Commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate English lessons for high school students
- Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Collaborate with school staff, including social workers, to support student well-being
- Maintain organized records and participate in parent conferences or meetings as needed
- Create a classroom culture that encourages respect, curiosity, and academic growth
