A full-time opportunity is available for an experienced elementary education professional specializing in English Language Arts (ELA) to teach 5th grade students in a school setting located in Dekalb, IL. This contract position involves managing two ELA classes and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students academic growth in general education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive ELA instruction aligned with district standards for 5th grade students
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and activities tailored to diverse learner needs
- Manage and support two classrooms while maintaining a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance instructional quality
- Monitor and report student progress and communicate regularly with parents or guardians
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in elementary education
- Expertise in English Language Arts instruction within a general education classroom
- Ability to effectively manage multiple classes with varying student needs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
