Job Description

Step into a dynamic teaching opportunity supporting second graders for the remainder of the school year! This contract role places you in a supportive elementary school environment where you will guide a class of 19 eager students, developing their skills and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. The schedule runs from 8:35 AM to 3:35 PM, Monday through Friday, with a half-hour unpaid lunch, totaling 32.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification for elementary education
  • Prior experience with classroom teaching, preferably in general education settings
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to design engaging, grade-appropriate instructional activities
  • Collaborative mindset and effective communication abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all students

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality instruction to a second-grade class, adhering to the schools curriculum and educational standards
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that address the varying learning needs of your students
  • Evaluate student progress and tailor instructional methods to support growth and achievement
  • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student progress and any classroom updates
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as needed
