Job Description

In this engaging onsite contract position near Clarks Summit, PA, you'll be supporting students with reading challenges, including dyslexia, to foster academic growth and personal achievement. This is a full-time opportunity working 37.5 hours per week at a single school, allowing you to focus on getting to know your students and seeing their progress.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Wilson Level I Certification
  • Experience working as a General Education Teacher, Reading Specialist, or in a similar educational role
  • Strong knowledge of reading interventions, especially for students with dyslexia or other reading disorders
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow educators, families, and support staff to tailor instruction to individual student needs
  • Passion for inspiring student growth and a patient, encouraging approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional support to students struggling with reading, focusing on those with dyslexia or related challenges
  • Develop and implement lesson plans using the Wilson Reading System, adapting as needed to accommodate diverse learning needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies to maximize success
  • Work closely with colleagues and caregivers to communicate strategies, progress, and next steps
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as needed to support best practices in reading intervention
