Job Description

Step into an exciting contract position focused on shaping young minds in mathematics at the middle school level. In this role, you will instruct three sections of 8th grade math, each lasting 80 minutes, and lead a homeroom/intervention block. This manageable caseload ensures meaningful connections with students and opportunities to tailor your instruction for diverse learning needs, contributing both academically and personally to their growth.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Illinois General Education Teaching License (PEL) with a Middle School Math Endorsement or equivalent state/discipline license
  • Prior experience or demonstrated success teaching math at the middle school level strongly preferred
  • Solid classroom management skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Flexibility, creativity, and an engaging instructional approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver compelling math lessons aligned with curriculum standards for 8th grade students
  • Assess student progress, offering targeted interventions and support as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning sessions
  • Oversee a homeroom/intervention block, building relationships and supporting individual student needs
