Key Qualifications:
- Active teaching license and Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Previous experience or background in teaching General Education (Health) at the middle or junior high level
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage students and collaborate with staff
- Ability to create an inclusive, dynamic classroom environment focused on health and wellness
- Dedicated to onsite presence throughout the school year (no virtual instruction options)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging health curriculum to junior high students
- Foster a safe, positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and learning
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and adapt instruction to meet varying student needs
- Collaborate with school leadership, fellow teachers, and support professionals to optimize student outcomes
- Uphold district standards and support overall school initiatives
Position Details:
- Schedule: August 17, 2026, through May 21, 2027
- Weekly hours: 33.75, following the school calendar
- Location: Onsite only at a junior high in the Calumet City area
