Seeking passionate educators ready to make an impact as full-time high school math teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This onsite role offers the opportunity to inspire general education students, with the possibility of collaborating alongside SPED professionals for individualized support. With two openings available, this contract position is perfect for skilled teachers looking to help students succeed in an urban educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active teaching certification/licensure required for assigned courses.
- Bachelors degree necessary, with eligibility for an emergency teaching permit.
- Prior experience in school settings, especially working in urban environments.
- Mastery of high school math subject matter and proficiency in instructional skills.
- Ability to create and implement lesson plans that reflect state and district standards.
- Skilled in differentiating instruction and using formative assessment to drive learning.
- Strong classroom and behavioral management abilities are essential.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work onsite, Monday through Friday, between 8:30AM and 4PM, with no schedule accommodations.
- Comfortable with district policies, location, and working dynamics.
- Capable of completing all Pennsylvania state-required clearances.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction to high school general education students.
- Collaborate with SPED teachers as needed for the integration of special education students.
- Utilize diverse teaching strategies and formative assessments to support varied learners.
- Foster a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with students, families, and staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school collaborative activities.
