Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a full-time middle school math educator for the 2026-2027 academic year. Working onsite with general education students, youll play a key role in facilitating a dynamic math curriculum and supporting academic progress in an urban school environment. This position starts August 24, 2026, and continues through June 10, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 8:30am4:00pm.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active teaching certification or licensure required for assigned caseload
- Bachelors degree necessary to qualify for an emergency teaching permit
- Proven experience in a school setting, preferably with middle school general education math
- Demonstrated mastery of math content and instructional methods aligned with state and district standards
- Prior experience and comfort working in urban education environments
- Strong classroom and behavior management competence
- Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans using current resources
- Knowledge of formative assessment and instructional differentiation techniques
- Reliable transportation required for daily onsite attendance
- Capability to complete all PA state and school clearance requirements
Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement lesson plans based on established standards
- Instruct solely general education students, with support systems in place for any potential special education integration
- Foster a safe, supportive, and structured classroom atmosphere
- Collaborate with peers and special education staff to ensure student needs are addressed
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school meetings as necessary
