Job Description
Step into a rewarding, full-time teaching position shaping the next generation of scientific thinkers! A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated middle school science educator with expertise in general education. From August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027, you'll engage students onsite in a collaborative, urban environment near Chester, PA, for 35 hours per week.
Youll focus primarily on general education students, with the possibility of working alongside special education professionals as needed to ensure all learners thrive. Your instructional leadership and mastery of subject matter will be key as you craft lesson plans aligned with state and district standards, incorporating assessment-driven instruction and differentiation to meet each students needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required (enables emergency teaching permit).
- Active teaching certification/licensure appropriate for the caseload.
- Prior experience in school settings is essential.
- Demonstrated classroom and behavioral management strength.
- Experience working in an urban educational environment.
- Comfortable operating within district guidelines and building culture.
- Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances.
- Proven expertise in lesson planning, curriculum alignment, and instructional delivery.
- Commitment to working on-site between 8:30 AM and 4 PM; schedule accommodations are not available.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach middle school science to general education students.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary teamincluding special education staff, as needed.
- Develop and implement engaging, compliant lesson plans.
- Foster a supportive, structured classroom environment.
- Participate in ongoing student assessment and adapt instruction as needed.
