Qualifications:
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification or appropriate credential
- Background in educational assessment, special education, or related field
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive psychoeducational assessments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and other professionals
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
- Ability to manage time efficiently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal assessment and evaluation of students referred for special education consideration
- Interpret test results, generate detailed reports, and present findings at multidisciplinary team meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and help adjust educational plans as needed
- Provide consultative support to classroom educators regarding instructional strategies and accommodations
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research, assessment tools, and compliance requirements within the field of special education
