Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Special Education or related field required
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification for the state of Texas
- Prior experience conducting educational assessments in school settings
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to special education
- Exceptional communication, organization, and interpersonal abilities
- Detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple students case files and documentation
- Proficient technology skills for report writing and digital documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students referred for special education services, including cognitive, academic, and behavioral assessments
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to interpret assessment results
- Develop individualized education program (IEP) recommendations tailored to each students strengths and needs
- Participate actively in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings and provide expert guidance during the decision-making process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with all legal and district requirements
- Provide consultative support to educators to aid in implementing effective instructional strategies
- Advocate for student success and ensure compliance with all special education guidelines
