This contract role provides an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative educational environment, assisting students, teachers, and families with assessment and intervention needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of eligibility criteria and assessment tools for special education
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws regarding special education
- Ability to analyze assessment data and develop detailed evaluation reports
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer formal and informal educational assessments to students referred for evaluation
- Interpret and communicate results to multidisciplinary teams and families
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings, presenting findings and making recommendations
- Develop and maintain thorough documentation in accordance with regulations
- Serve as a resource to teachers and staff regarding instructional strategies and classroom accommodations
- Stay current with best practices and laws pertaining to special education
- Foster positive relationships with families, staff, and students
