Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Diagnostics, School Psychology, or a related field
  • Current certification or licensure as an Educational Diagnostician (or eligibility in California)
  • Demonstrated experience performing educational, cognitive, and behavioral assessments in school settings
  • In-depth knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and related special education regulations
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive academic, cognitive, and behavioral assessments of students referred for evaluation
  • Interpret data and collaborate with school teams to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and recommendations
  • Prepare clear, thorough assessment reports and communicate findings with staff and families
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing expertise to student support decisions
  • Stay current on special education laws and best practices in educational diagnostics
  • Provide consultative support and in-service training to educators and families
