Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as an Educational Diagnostician in a dynamic school environment in the beautiful Kenai, AK area. This contract opportunity allows you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help students reach their full potential through individualized assessments and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification (or eligibility in Alaska)
- Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Assessment, or a related field
- Experience conducting cognitive, academic, and behavioral evaluations with school-aged children
- Solid understanding of federal and state special education regulations (IDEA, Section 504)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for detailed documentation and team meetings
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, specialists, and administrators
- Organizational skills to manage caseloads, timelines, and compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psycho-educational assessments to support eligibility and program planning decisions
- Prepare comprehensive diagnostic reports and provide interpretive feedback to staff and families
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and determination of educational needs
- Develop recommendations for instructional modifications, interventions, and supports
- Support crisis intervention and behavior management as needed
- Maintain meticulous records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding evaluation tools and best practices in special education assessment
