Job Description

This contract opportunity allows you to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and help students reach their full potential through individualized assessments and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Educational Diagnostician certification (or eligibility in Alaska)
  • Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Assessment, or a related field
  • Experience conducting cognitive, academic, and behavioral evaluations with school-aged children
  • Solid understanding of federal and state special education regulations (IDEA, Section 504)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for detailed documentation and team meetings
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, specialists, and administrators
  • Organizational skills to manage caseloads, timelines, and compliance requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psycho-educational assessments to support eligibility and program planning decisions
  • Prepare comprehensive diagnostic reports and provide interpretive feedback to staff and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and determination of educational needs
  • Develop recommendations for instructional modifications, interventions, and supports
  • Support crisis intervention and behavior management as needed
  • Maintain meticulous records in compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource regarding evaluation tools and best practices in special education assessment
