Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as an Educational Diagnostician (or eligibility for certification)
  • Masters degree in Special Education, Educational Diagnostics, or a related field
  • Familiarity with a wide range of assessment tools and techniques for identifying learning disabilities and developmental concerns
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary team processes and effective collaboration strategies
  • Excellent communication, organization, and record-keeping skills
  • Previous experience in a school-based role preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive educational assessments for students referred for evaluation of learning difficulties or disabilities
  • Interpret and summarize assessment results to develop clear, impactful reports for IEP teams and families
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to determine appropriate interventions, supports, and accommodations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review findings and contribute to the development of IEPs
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing ongoing recommendations for instructional modifications
  • Offer professional guidance to educators regarding individualized instruction and best practices
