Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification for Texas
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of federal and Texas special education laws (IDEA, Section 504)
- Familiarity with a variety of assessment tools and techniques
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive educational assessments for referred students
- Interpret evaluation data and share findings with families and staff
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and contribute to eligibility decisions
- Develop clear, actionable recommendations based on evaluation results
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records
- Support staff with strategies and interventions for diverse learners
- Stay up-to-date with ongoing changes in special education practices and policies
