Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification (Texas credentials preferred)
- Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Demonstrated experience with educational, cognitive, and behavioral assessments
- Strong understanding of special education laws (IDEA, Section 504, FERPA)
- Ability to interpret data and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills for consulting with staff, students, and families
- Organizational skills to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal assessments to identify student learning strengths and needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to develop educational interventions
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings as the diagnostician expert
- Interpret evaluation results and present findings to multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document progress for compliance with state and federal regulations
- Provide guidance and professional development to educators regarding assessment and special education eligibility
