Make a meaningful difference supporting K-12 students as an Educational Diagnostician in the Bridgeport, CT area. This full-time, contract opportunity consists of 32.5 hours per week on a dynamic school-based team. Use your expertise to help evaluate and guide individualized education plans, working closely with staff, students, and families.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Educational Diagnostician certification/license as required by the state of Connecticut
- Demonstrated experience conducting comprehensive educational and psychological assessments
- Background in working with K-12 students in a school-based setting
- Familiarity with special education laws, due process, and IEP development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and support diverse learners
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform evaluations and re-evaluations of students referred for special education services
- Interpret test results and provide clear, actionable reports for educational planning
- Participate in multidisciplinary and IEP meetings, sharing insights to support individualized student needs
- Consult with teachers, parents, and other service providers regarding student accommodations
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and district requirements
- Support implementation of best practices for assessment and intervention within the school environment
