Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as an Educational Diagnostician
- Masters degree in Special Education or a related field preferred
- Experience administering assessments for students with a range of disabilities
- Strong understanding of special education law and eligibility criteria
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
- Proficient in using educational assessment tools and technology
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple evaluations and timelines effectively
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive educational assessments for students referred for special education services
- Interpret data and results to determine eligibility and inform individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies and recommendations for student support
- Lead and participate in eligibility, review, and dismissal meetings
- Maintain clear and thorough documentation according to state and federal guidelines
- Consult with teachers and staff to optimize classroom accommodations and strategies for success
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to families throughout the assessment process
