This position is perfect for those experienced as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, and who are also certified in teaching students with visual impairments (TVI). This role is part-time (21 hours per week) onsite, providing focused support to a student with TVI needs, including assistance with braille, for a maternity leave coverage from October to November 2026.
Qualifications:
- Current TVI certification for Virginia
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting
- Proficiency in supporting students requiring braille
- Commitment to delivering onsite support
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted educational support to a student with TVI needs
- Collaborate with school staff and family to optimize student progress
- Provide braille assistance and adapt materials as required
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate progress
