Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid credential or certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with school-aged children and/or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Familiarity with auditory devices, assistive technology, and differentiated instructional strategies
  • Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with educators, families, and support staff
  • Ability to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to determine students instructional needs
  • Providing direct and consultative services to students, helping them access the curriculum
  • Developing and implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers on accommodations, modifications, and specialized instruction
  • Facilitating communication for students using ASL, oral, or total communication approaches as appropriate
  • Offering guidance and resources to families, promoting advocacy and engagement
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining meticulous records
