Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience working with elementary-age students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of assistive hearing technology and classroom adaptations
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used by the deaf/hard of hearing community
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, aides, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in an elementary classroom, Monday through Friday
- Adapt curriculum and assessments to meet individual learning needs
- Consult with classroom teachers to ensure accessible instruction and learning materials
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Support the integration of assistive technologies and communication devices
- Promote a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents and other educational team members
