Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) specialization
• Experience or training in supporting students with hearing impairments
• Strong knowledge of assistive listening devices, American Sign Language (ASL), and accessible instructional strategies
• Skilled at creating and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for DHH students
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Previous experience working in an elementary school is highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Modify and adapt instruction to ensure full accessibility and engagement for DHH students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to implement effective instructional strategies
• Monitor student progress, assess skill development, and revise interventions as needed
• Facilitate communication and inclusion between DHH students, peers, and school staff
• Support families by sharing resources, strategies, and progress updates
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
