A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support elementary students in an engaging school environment. This full-time, contract position is based in Modesto, CA, offering Monday through Friday hours within an elementary classroom setting.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a classroom environment
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in sign language or other relevant communication methods
Location: Modesto, California
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in an elementary classroom
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and support personnel to develop and implement educational plans
