Job Description

In this contract position, you will work with students in an elementary classroom setting, Monday through Friday, applying your expertise to foster communication and learning. Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or evidence of appropriate credentialing
  • Previous work with elementary-aged children, ideally within a public school environment
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Proficiency in sign language and various communication modalities
  • Ability to craft effective, individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in an inclusive elementary classroom
  • Modify and adapt curriculum to ensure access and comprehension
  • Conduct assessments and contribute meaningfully to IEP processes and meetings
  • Consult with general education teachers to support student success and accessibility
  • Engage regularly with families and staff to communicate student progress and needs
  • Employ a variety of communication techniques to engage and empower students

Compensation for this position ranges from $38.00 to $63.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
