Job Description

A school-based opportunity is available for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to provide expert support and instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments. This contract position is located in Sand Springs, OK, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and identify the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
  • Provide direct instruction and support services to students to enhance communication and learning.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and families on hearing impairments and related supports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or in a similar role within educational settings.
  • Knowledge of audiology, speech therapy concepts, and hearing assistive technologies.
  • Ability to develop tailored educational plans and strategies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications or licensure preferred.

Location: Sand Springs, OK (onsite)
