A school-based opportunity is available for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to provide expert support and instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments. This contract position is located in Sand Springs, OK, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families.
- Provide direct instruction and support services to students to enhance communication and learning.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to meet evolving needs.
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on hearing impairments and related supports.
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or in a similar role within educational settings.
- Knowledge of audiology, speech therapy concepts, and hearing assistive technologies.
- Ability to develop tailored educational plans and strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications or licensure preferred.
Location: Sand Springs, OK (onsite)
