Make a difference supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist in a dynamic school environment near Sacramento, CA. In this contract role, youll partner with educators, students, and families to deliver exceptional auditory access and specialized instructional support, ensuring learners with hearing differences reach their full potential.
Ideal candidates bring expertise in facilitating listening and spoken language, as well as adapting educational materials for students with varying levels of hearing ability. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid credential or certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist
- Background in educational audiology or sign language (ASL) proficiency preferred
- Experience in school settings, supporting students from preschool through high school
- Ability to assess individual learning needs and develop customized plans and goals
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and teachers
- Knowledge of assistive technology and amplification equipment (FM systems, hearing aids, etc.)
- Commitment to providing equitable educational access
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and interpret audiological data to inform instruction
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students
- Provide direct and consultative services in classrooms or small groups
- Deliver staff training and guidance on creating accessible environments
- Support student self-advocacy and communication skill development
- Liaise with parents and external providers to support seamless service delivery

Compensation for this position ranges from $38.00 to $63.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
