A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist to support students in an educational setting. This contract position is based in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on the academic and social development of students with hearing challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify the specific learning needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's communication and learning requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate appropriate accommodations and technologies
- Provide direct instruction and support in listening, speech, language, and communication strategies
- Advocate for students access to curricula and school activities

Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Relevant certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or similar credential
- Experience working within school settings supporting deaf or hard of hearing students
- Strong understanding of auditory and visual communication methods, assistive technologies, and accessibility tools
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with educators, parents, and students
- Ability to manage caseloads and maintain detailed records of student progress
