Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Proven background working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed English
- Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for accessibility
- Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant licensure or certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist (current and in good standing)
- Experience in a classroom or school-based setting preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students according to their IEPs
- Assess students needs and progress, adapting strategies for optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service professionals to promote student success
- Assist in providing training and resources for school staff to support deaf/hard of hearing students
- Advocate for students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Stay current with best practices in deaf education and accessibility
