Job Description

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proven background working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed English
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for accessibility
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant licensure or certification as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist (current and in good standing)
  • Experience in a classroom or school-based setting preferred

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students according to their IEPs
  • Assess students needs and progress, adapting strategies for optimal outcomes
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service professionals to promote student success
  • Assist in providing training and resources for school staff to support deaf/hard of hearing students
  • Advocate for students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Stay current with best practices in deaf education and accessibility
