A full-time opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) to provide specialized instruction and support within an elementary educational setting near Bristol, Illinois. This role involves travel to schools, offering services to students with hearing impairments to enhance their educational experience and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, using individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and support staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
- Monitor students progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Provide training and resources to school staff and families to better support students with hearing loss
- Utilize technology and assistive devices to enhance learning and communication
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to student performance and services provided
Qualifications:
- Illinois Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification is required
- Experience working in an elementary school environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Willingness to travel between school locations as needed
