A contract opportunity is available for a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist within a school setting located in Omak, WA. This role is dedicated to supporting students with hearing impairments to ensure they have access to a full educational experience tailored to their specific needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Implement and adapt instructional strategies to meet the communication and learning needs of students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support
- Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance learning outcomes
- Provide guidance and training to school staff on best practices for working with students who have hearing impairments
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent specialized training
- Experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong knowledge of educational strategies and assistive technologies for hearing-impaired students
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a school environment and maintain compliance with relevant educational regulations
