Qualifications:
- State licensure or certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (or relevant credentials)
- Experience working with school-age children who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
- Assess students needs to develop and implement individualized educational plans
- Provide direct instructional support to help students achieve academic and social goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service staff for seamless inclusion
- Adapt curriculum and materials to support diverse communication needs
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering guidance on best practices and accommodations
- Advocate for student accessibility and inclusivity within the school community
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
