Job Description

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly preferred
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with teachers, families, and related service providers

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support and instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accordance with their IEPs
  • Assess student needs and progress, using data to inform educational strategies
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and teaching techniques to meet individual student goals
  • Offer training and resources to staff and families on accommodations, assistive technology, and communication strategies
  • Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that celebrates diverse learning needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as an essential team member
