Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
- Experience working with school-aged children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of sign language and accessible communication strategies
- Comfortable delivering virtual instruction and support
- Ability to establish rapport and tailor instruction to individual student needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable internet connection and proficiency with virtual learning platforms
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized 1:1 instructional and support services to students in a virtual setting
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to suit a variety of communication styles and learning abilities
- Collaborate with school teams, therapy providers, and families to support student progress
- Monitor student performance and document sessions, adjusting techniques as needed for maximum impact
- Provide feedback, encouragement, and advocacy for students navigating mainstream and specialized curricula
- Stay current with best practices and compliance guidelines in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
