This full-time teaching position focuses on Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services within an elementary school setting near Bristol, IL. The role requires providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their academic and social development aligns with educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and classroom instruction tailored for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective educational strategies.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication techniques appropriate for DHH learners.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods as needed to meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state certification requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification in Illinois is required.
- Experience working in elementary education with DHH students preferred.
