What Were Looking For:
- Valid teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in inclusive settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of assistive listening device technology
- Strong collaboration skills to work with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet individual needs
- Commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments in the elementary classroom, Monday through Friday
- Conduct assessments and assist in developing IEPs tailored to each students needs
- Modify curriculum and implement effective communication strategies
- Provide support and resources to classroom teachers and aides
- Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, offering guidance and strategies for success
- Advocate for students full participation and support their social-emotional growth
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
