What Were Looking For:

• Valid teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialization
• Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in inclusive settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of assistive listening device technology
• Strong collaboration skills to work with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet individual needs
• Commitment to creating a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments in the elementary classroom, Monday through Friday
• Conduct assessments and assist in developing IEPs tailored to each students needs
• Modify curriculum and implement effective communication strategies
• Provide support and resources to classroom teachers and aides
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, offering guidance and strategies for success
• Advocate for students full participation and support their social-emotional growth
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing professional development
