Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching credential for Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Specialized training or certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working in elementary educational settings preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ASL and other communication modalities for DHH students
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, students, and families
  • Up-to-date understanding of best practices in differentiated instruction and IEP implementation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver focused instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within the elementary classroom
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt lessons and materials
  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address student needs
  • Provide guidance and support to general education staff on effective inclusion strategies
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with district standards
  • Foster a welcoming and engaging learning atmosphere for every student
  • Communicate regularly with families, serving as a resource and advocate
