Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support an elementary classroom setting. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday schedule in Modesto, CA, providing a stable and rewarding environment to impact young learners' communication and educational growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and communication strategies to facilitate student engagement and learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt lessons to meet diverse needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and families to promote inclusive education.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates on student development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential with certification or endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and communication techniques such as sign language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
