Key Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or similar credential required.
• Experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
• Proficient with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication supports for students with hearing differences.
• Strong collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, staff, and families.
• Ability to conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
• Organized, flexible, and able to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
• Familiarity with assistive listening devices and technology is a plus.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, both individually and in groups.
• Assess students' needs and collaborate on appropriate accommodations or modifications.
• Help develop and implement IEPs, participating in meetings and annual reviews.
• Serve as a resource for teachers, aides, and administration around strategies and communication techniques.
• Foster self-advocacy and independence in students.
• Offer training and support to staff to promote accessibility and inclusion.
• Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation.
